Support independent photojournalism

All projects in my portfolio are self funded which means I have to pay for travel expenses, accomodation, translators, equipment and day to day costs from my own income. At times this can be very minimal and often makes it hard to fund a project. Unlike the old days even major magazines or newspapers will not fund an assignment by freelance photographers and photojournalists like me.

This usually means the best stories or photography will only be a reality if I can pay for the expenses which can run into thousands of dollars. Some of this I try to fund by doing commercial and and other types of photography but also rely on sponsorships, donations and commisions.
